FAQ

Q: How often Should I use Tooth Tar?

A: Ideally, twice per day. Tooth Tar is meant to be a toothpaste alternative.

Q: I’m pregnant, is Tooth Tar and Tongue Tonic Safe for me?

A: Yay, congrats…..yes, we formulated Tooth Tar and Tongue Tonic multiple times to ensure it’s safety for Pregnant/nursing mommies. However; baby’s health is the priority so ALWAYS check with your doctor before beginning a new regimine

Q: Tooth Tar is so messy, what in the entire hell?

A: Why yes, yes it is! Many apologies about the mess, it’s just that nothing whitens quite like Activated Charcoal; the mess is a small price to pay to the white teeth gods! In the Meantime….

1.) Keep your mouth closed and tilt your head back, slightly, to reduce splatter

2.) Brush in the Shower

3.) Clean the mess with liquid dish soap

Q: My gums have become so sensitive since starting Tooth Tar, what should I do?

A: Yep, It’s an abrasive so this does happen. For slight irritation, alternate Tooth Tar with some of that regular toothpaste stuff or whatever, brushing lightly until sensitivity subsides(about a week or so). If you experience severe or prolonged pain/sensitivity listen to your body. Discontinue use and consult with your dentist.

Q: Is Tooth Tar safe to take with my medications?

A: Yes and no, Activated Charcoal binds to toxins in your system and removes them from your body. This process Will affect your pharmaceutical drugs, making them, essenitally, ineffective. Most of the time, staggering use of Tooth Tar with ingestion of medications by 3 hours should solve this issue, but DO consult with your doctor/pharmacist before beggining Tooth Tar.

Q: I have braces can I still use Tooth Tar?

A: We have customers who use Tooth Tar with braces, but this is a question better answered by an Orthodontist.

Q: Tooth Tar left my gum line black, thats not cute!

A: No it’s not, to remedy this just brush a second time with plain water and rinse well.

Q: My Tooth Tar is too dry/Too oily!

A: Word! We don’t use ANY chemicals to emulsify the paste. It’s like natural Peanut butter; the oil rises and separates from the powders. Be sure to stir it, well, at least once per day. If it gets too dry or too oily just add a bit of coconut oil or baking soda, respectively.

Q: My Tooth Tar isn’t making my Teeth White!

A: Gah! This could be for two reasons

1.) Consistency…..use your Tooth Tar 2 times/day (Take clear before photos and compare at USE 14)

2.) If your’e being consistent and still don’t notice any change, your discoloration could be intrinisic (deeper, than surface level)! For example…. teeth often have brown stains and inconsistent color from tooth to tooth, if this is the case the problem is, likely, Fluorosis caused by too much flouride in your system. You can read more about that here
